Please join us for an informative and fast paced session on challenges users face in accessing content, progress made through federated authentication, SAML, SeamlessAccess, and GetFTR, and what next steps are possible. New AI tools and new research practices are changing the research workflow. Content providers are seeing usage decline as AI summaries replace downloads. How might user authorization be delegated to AI agents who act on behalf of the researcher with access? What would it take for that process to be secure? How can we both build on existing technologies and new initiatives to streamline these processes? How might librarians, publishers, platform providers, and others collaborate to address scholars’ and students’ pain points and empower users in navigating the evolving information landscape?
