Nathaniel Christen, Linguistic Technology Systems. As a doctoral student in philosophy (specialization in Philosophy of Science, as well as Cognitive Linguistics) Nathaniel served on a committee to redesign the departmental website, including a venue for students and faculty to publish papers in digital format, with granular text-query functionality. Nathaniel developed some document-prep tools at that point (partly for his own use, dissertation etc.) and later became interested in curation of scientific data sets (or "research objects") as a concrete application for themes in philosophy of science. He has also written software related to computational linguistics and Computer Vision, and is working on unifying these different areas into an overall publishing library.
